About appointments and outings
Going with your loved one to the GP, hospital, dentist or hairdresser, and on outings to a café, club, place of worship or the seaside.
Questions families ask
Can a carer drive Mum in her own car?
Only if they're insured to drive it. Check with the insurer before the first trip.
Will the carer come into the appointment?
If your loved one is happy for them to, yes. The doctor will only share details with the carer if your loved one agrees.
Who pays for parking and mileage?
Agree it beforehand so there are no awkward moments later.

Are you a carer in Cornwall?
Join Carers & Cleaners for £1 a year and be found by families looking for help getting to appointments and out and about near you. There's no commission: you set your own rates and families pay you directly.
Carers & Cleaners is an introduction service. We don't vet or employ anyone, and what carers and cleaners tell us about themselves is self-declared. Families choose who to speak to and agree everything with them directly.
