Questions families ask

Can a carer cook to a special diet?

Many can. Explain it clearly, and if there's advice from a speech and language therapist about swallowing, share it.

Who buys the food?

Agree it at the start: either you do the shopping, or the carer does and you pay them back against receipts.

What if Dad keeps skipping meals?

A carer can encourage him, and sitting down to eat together often helps. Losing weight without trying is worth mentioning to the GP.
