About roof cleaning
What it usually involves
Removing moss and algae from roof tiles, clearing the debris from the gutters afterwards, and sometimes applying a treatment to slow regrowth.
How a self-employed cleaner can help
Experienced roof cleaners know which methods suit each type of tile, and can point out slipped or cracked tiles while they're up there.
Questions worth asking
- What method do you use for my type of roof?
- Do you have public liability insurance that covers roof work?

Do I need to be home?
Usually not, though it helps to be there at the start to agree the plan.
How often does a roof need cleaning?
Usually every few years, depending on how many trees and how much shade are nearby.
Do you check the carers?
No. We're an introduction service: carers tell us about their experience and checks themselves, and these are shown as self-declared. After an introduction we send short guides on what to check and how.

Why I started Carers & Cleaners
When my mum, Jean, was diagnosed with dementia, I found it surprisingly hard to find good local help. In the end we found a wonderful independent carer, and later a cleaner, by word of mouth. I built Carers & Cleaners so other families don't have to rely on luck.
